HARVEST - A time to look back and forward
Quite a lot
has gone on in the past 12 months here at Peirano Estate. We have
received some great press for our wines. Peirano Estate Wines have
been seen on CNBC and MSNBC, and have been in publications such as
The Wall Street Journal, The Wine News, New York Times, Dallas
Morning News, and Quarterly Review of Wines, just to
name a few. Our distribution has increased, as Peirano Estate
wines are now in over 20 states!!! And, with the Supreme Court
ruling this past May, our wines are now available to direct ship
to more and more states seemingly every week!
Of course, most
importantly, we had another great harvest! While this was (yet
again) a different sort of growing season, the fruit we have been
tasting is outstanding. The whites are tucked away in their barrels,
while the reds should be ready to go before Thanksgiving. Meanwhile,
we have great vintages available in the Tasting Room, as well as
prices that will make it easy on your pocket book. Stock up now for
holiday giving, and don’t forget yourself as well. Remember what we
say here at Peirano Estate –
save Santa the trip; if you’ve been
nice, buy yourself a case – if you’ve been naughty, buy yourself two
cases!

We also just
received results from the 2005 Chicago Value Wine Challenge,
and just like in previous years, Peirano Estate wines were highly
rated! Receiving ‘Top 50’ honors of all wines entered included our
2003 Petite Sirah (which tied for highest rated Petite Sirah), 2003
Barbera (also highest scoring Barbera in the competition), 2004 ‘The
Other’ white blend and 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon. In addition, our
Autumn’s Blush placed as a ‘Top 10’ wine in the ultra-value
category. High praise indeed, with entries in this competition from
around the United States and 12 countries from around the globe!

RECIPES,
PLEASE!!! We are looking
for some more recipes for another recipe booklet project (for this
coming spring). SO, if you have some recipes (ideally that match
well with Peirano Estate wines), submit them to us and we will
include them in this collection. Remember, if your recipe is chosen,
you will also receive a free copy of the booklet!
Looking to
have an event in 2006? Why not have it at Peirano Estate!
Our picnic grove is a wonderful site to have your event, be it
reception, wedding, birthday, anniversary, baby shower or anything
else! Contact the Tasting Room, 209-369-9463 or
info@peirano.com to schedule a date.
Don’t delay, as our calendar is filling quickly for next year!

The time has
come for me to go, but once again, a big “THANK YOU” to all of you
out there that have made Peirano Estate such a success over the
years. 2005 marked our 14th year making wines under the
family name, and the Tasting Room has been open some 7 ½ years now!
From all of us at Peirano Estate Vineyards, a happy and safe holiday
season, and a prosperous 2006.
Until next time,

Did you know . . . . .

Direct Shipping Update!
A
lot has happened in 2005 to offer the consumer choices in obtaining
wine throughout the United States. Along with the landmark Supreme
Court decision, New York changed its laws, and once permits are
issued by that state, New York residents will be able to order
direct. Michigan (the other state directly affected by that
decision) is still up in the air, yet the tide has turned and it
looks like they will pass some sort of direct shipping legislation
soon. Connecticut also opened its borders, and we should see our
permit soon for that state. Ohio is now open for direct shipment
(due to a U.S. District court ruling), and we are all hoping for
more progress in 2006!
Until next time,
