Lance - 4th GenerationPeirano/Owner/Farmer/ Winemaker / General Manager

Contact1.jpgLance, fourth generation Peirano, owner, farmer, and winemaker, has been involved with the family’s estate since the age of four when he began learning the art of winemaking from his father Randy.  By the age of six, Lance was driving tractors through the Peirano family vineyards.   In 1992, he began making wine with the grapes from the family’s 300 acre estate.  After receiving considerable praise for making quality wine, he decided to start bottling and selling Peirano wine using solely the estate grown grapes.  Initially, he planned on producing only 540 cases, which he predicted was enough to last him for the rest of his lifetime.  Presently, Peirano Estate Vineyards produces 62,000 cases a year.

Lance has made himself a household name not only for his great winemaking skills but for his ability to tame the wrath of the weather god’s by wearing his sacrificial Red Shorts beginning April 1st of every year.  He religiously wears them, rain or shine, everyday thereafter until every grower in Lodi completes their harvest in late fall to protect the crops from harvest rains.

Lance is a man on a mission.  His mission is to make the best wine to come out of the Lodi Appellation.  To many, he has already achieved this goal.  Lance, on the other hand, is not satisfied.  He promises to continue challenging himself and bettering his crop, while adhering to his great grandfather Giacomo’s old farming practices, for many years to come.

Michael Smith - Western Regional Sales Manager - clone6mike@gmail.com

Contact3.jpgHaving always had an appreciation for the finer things in life, it seems only fitting that Michael would be selling wine as a career.  However, the story does not begin there. It was a long road of learning that has brought Michael to Peirano Estate Vineyards.

Beginning his career in the restaurant industry, Michael quickly learned that he had a passion for food, wine and people.  After several years spent on this side of the business, he met the love of his life through a mutual friend.  Having spent many days tasting in Karen’s native Napa Valley, Michael quickly realized that he wanted to be in the wine industry.  After much research, he decided it would be best to start by working for a wine distributor.  He went to work for Young’s Market Company and took advantage of every class, certification, and promotion that was available.  From there Michael went on to work for an international wine importer, as well as two well known Napa Valley Wineries, Chappellet Vineyard & Winery, and Frazier Family Estate.
These experiences have collectively shaped Michael’s goals and prepared him for his sales role at Peirano.  He looks forward to many years of being a part of this wonderful, diverse group of people that makes up Peirano Estate Vineyards.

Deborah Padilla - Mother Hen” - deborah@peirano.com

Contact4.jpgContact5.jpgHaving lived in Lodi, California, for over thirty years, Deborah Padilla has personally seen the growth of the Lodi Appellation in all its glory.  Her husband Russ, who owns Padilla Trucking,  has been working in the wine industry for fifteen years.  This is where Deborah began her love for wine.  Through her husband’s trucking company, she has had the opportunity to visit hundreds of wineries all over California.  She began working with Peirano Estate Vineyards in 2005 and plans on never leaving.   She is known as “Mother Hen” around the winery for her ability to not only maintain her large list of appointed duties which include Event Coordinator, Executive Administrator, and Purchasing Coordinator, but also for her knack of keeping the winery in tip top form and encouraging all its employees to shine.

Lindsay Simon – Winery Office Assistant

Lindsay1003_1_1_.jpg

Raised in the Bay Area, Lindsay was familiar with the Napa and Sonoma wine country but clueless to the Lodi area and all that it has to offer.   She moved to the Valley in 2007 with her little boy. She began working at Peirano Estate Vineyards in April 2009. Being new to the wine business, and the area, Lindsay loves and is so excited to be learning new things about both every day.  After spending several years in Saint Mary’s College’s Advancement Department, she is able to bring her knowledge, experience and personality to our winery office helping Deborah with her large list of daily duties.  Peirano has become a welcoming new home to Lindsay and she will remain here for a long time to come.
