A Message from Mr. Red Shorts AKA Lance

I’ve been in the wine business since I was a little tyke driving tractors around the farm with my dad, siblings, grandparents, aunts, uncles, you name it!  This industry never ceases to excite me.  I’ve seen Lodi grow from a small town in the “boondocks” to this hidden jewel that has become not so hidden anymore.  When I started selling Peirano wine, my goal was to show the world the greatness of the Lodi Appellation.  It still amazes me that to this day, most people don’t know that Lodi produces twice as much Cabernet, Merlot, Chardonnay, Zinfandel, and Sauvignon Blanc than Napa and Sonoma combined.  That’s right folks…combined!  I guess it doesn’t really matter since Lodi has grown to make it’s own name for itself regardless of this bit piece of trivia.  It’s just been such an amazing thing to witness.

Anyway, that being said, this is the very first blog post by Peirano Estate Vineyards.  My family extends beyond my blood kin to include my loyal employees at Peirano Estate Vineyards, which is why I’ve opened this blog to all of them for posts.  Roger and Mike (Roger’s “mini-me”), our hardworking sales guys, will periodically post blogs sharing their experiences from the road.  Mania AKA Manja AKA Maniac, our Marketing Manager, will be the source for all your press updates and whatever else she wishes to share.  Deborah AKA “Mother Hen” will post her thoughts on everything events related including charitable functions that we hold dear to our hearts.  Don’t be surprised if she vents a bit about keeping all of us hyper-active folks in line!  We couldn’t survive without her.

Please feel free to leave your comments.  We’d love to hear your thoughts!

Signing off,

Mr. Red Shorts AKA Lance

Just bought ANOTHER case of your Six Clones Merlot 2007, Heritage collection. It is one of the best wines I ever had. Hearty yet light, tasteful but not acidic and SMOOTH...everybody who comes to our house drinks it and turns into a Peirano Estate Vineyard fan. Have not tried your other wines but I will and would love to visit someday when I make it to California. Keep up the good work and thanks for your dedication to QUALITY. That is what lasts.

I think you have made a mistake referring to your lovely "Immortal Zin" by asking if one has committed the "Immortal Zin" yet. Our Immortal Lord turned water into wine. You should make some reference in that genre to impress Christians rather than referring to "zin". After a sample in my local store I purchased the wine thinking of God's immortality not the opposite.
