As
proud as we are about the quality wines we produce here at Peirano
Estate, it’s gratifying to see this kind of feed back from our
customers-
On
our 1997 Old Vine Zinfandel-
“We
loved you old vine zin!!!”
J. C. H., from California, via email
“I
had you old vine 97 Zin and it is wonderful”
J.H.W., from Metro D.C., via email
On
our 1998 Shiraz-
“I
was very impressed with wine’s more “Cote Rotie” quality of
elegance and finesse instead of the blockbuster style of Shiraz so
popular now. I tasted richness and balance and earthy flair from
this one which was just wonderful. The aftertaste was also quit
long and complex in my humble opinion! Anyway, I am grateful to
you for providing such an interesting and carefully-made wines.”
J.H., via email
On
our 1998 Cabernet Sauvignon-
“Some
friends recently brought over a bottle of Peirano… and we loved
it… happen to have any more of that…”
D.G. from Vermont, via email
On
our 1998 Primo Zinfandel-
“…I
would like to get a couple of cases.”
R.W. from Virginia, via email
“…My
first bottle of yours- smooth and light of pepper”
R.L.S. from New Jersey*
“A
beautiful wine…we love it…”
B.D.L. from New York*
“Absolutely
zinful! A mix of spice and plum- yummy!”
Z.N. from California*
“Superb.
Best we’ve had…”
M. & S. B. from Wisconsin*
“…
I loved that Zin…”
D.M.W. from Massachusetts, via email
On
our 1999 Viognier-
“I
recently had more of your wine, this time your 99 Viognier, and
thought it was great!”
W.C., from San Jose, CA, via email
On
our 1998 Chardonnay-
“The
taste and finish of a very expensive Chardonnay. The best value of
any white wine available!”
P.H. from Ohio*
“This
went well with pork picata!”
J.M.D. from Florida*
“Warm
color and smooth taste after the first sip. We truly enjoyed this
white…”
D.C. from Virginia*
Fresh,
easy to drink. All around wonderful!
L.A. from New York*
“What
a wonderful surprise from Lodi! This was a great
introduction…”
B.C. from California*
And
then there are the wine writers, who have been most kind in their
praises of Peirano Estate’s wines-
On
our “Old Vine” Zinfandel-
“…
enjoying the view over the drowsy vineyard, I savored the
distinctive and unusual aromas of black tea, allspice, nutmeg, and
ripe purple plums. With such exotic aromas, I wondered what it
would taste like. It was full-bodied and richly flavored with
black currants and ripe purple plums, and perhaps a hint of dried
apricots and prunes, along with the black tea and spices. The
exotic aromas and flavors of black tea and nutmeg especially
struck me, which, combined with the plums and currants, provided a
completely new Zinfandel experience.
…
A truly distinctive Zinfandel- and positively bewitching in its
exotic combination of flavors and aromas.”
Rhoda Stewart, from her book
A Zinfandel Odyssey
“…
When Lance decided not to bulldoze the Zin vines, Zinfandel was
just becoming popular, and he knew his old, naturally rooted vines
would add character to his wine. UC Davis also agreed the vines
were special. They designated Peirano’s unique Zin vineyard as a
Heritage Block, and they took cuttings to propagate it for the
future.”
California Wine Club’s newsletter
“UNCORKED”
“A
great value in Zinfandel, this warm climate wine, unfiltered and
made from century-old vines, is filled with the ripe berry fruit
that only sunshine can produce…Rating- 91”
Wine Enthusiast Magazine
“If
you like your zins a bit more refined, consider Peirano 1997
‘Old Vine, Lodi’”
John Vankat, Cincinnati Enquirer
One
of the “Zinfandels to seek out” for Thanksgiving
Amy Albert, Fine Cooking Magazine
On
our 1998 “Six Clones Merlot-
“Plum,
currant rhubarb pie and smoke aromas lead to a softly fruity,
gentle wine in the mouth. The flavors of wild berries and tree
fruits are wrapped in velvety smooth tannins. A supple,
easy-drinking wine. Best Buy.”
Wine Enthusiast Magazine
On
our 1998 Shiraz-
“slightly
creamy, rounded, spicy, cherry and red berry fruit flavors with
notes of vanilla…recommended.”
California Grapevine Magazine
